Discover Yogyakarta’s Temples in One Day

"We had a great experience on our merapi and lava jeep tour with Ajad. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better driver for our time in Indonesia. From the moment we met him, he was so friendly, kind, welcoming and genuinely helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience, and nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. What made the day especially special was how much we learned from him. He gave us lots of great tips and advice, and was always happy to answer our questions and tell us more about Indonesia, the culture, local life and the places we were visiting. His English was fantastic, which made chatting with him so easy and enjoyable. We really loved hearing his stories and learning about the local food too. Sadly, the weather was cloudy so we didn’t get to see the Merapi lava, but he still made the whole experience feel so worthwhile. His positive attitude, knowledge and kindness really made our day. the jeep tour itself was amazing we got to go to a museum that was a memory house of a place where the lava had destroyed a house. We went to see the alien rock and also we drove through giant puddles really fast as our chosen track. we were soaked and had the best fun. The tour guide was very kind and knowledgeable also had good english and was very nice to us getting himself soaked to let us have fun.High recommend! Ajad was not just a great driver, but someone who genuinely cared about us having a lovely time. We felt very comfortable with him, and his friendly personality made the journey so much more enjoyable. We’re really grateful for everything he did for us and would absolutely recommend him to anyone visiting Indonesia. If you’re lucky enough to have him as your driver, you’re in very good hands! Thank you so much for helping make our trip so memorable. ❤️"

"Wir haben die Privattour zum Merapi gemacht, leider hatten wir kein Glück mit dem Wetter, aber die Tour war gut organisiert und ein kostenloses Abendessen war auch mit dabei. Preis/Leistung top!"

"Samira and I booked a tour to the Borobudur-temple and Dwii was the best Guide we could‘ve asked for. He is such a funny and kind person. Everything was well organised and we got a lot of local-informations on top. He made sure that we felt save and got everything we needed. After a specatcular day we had the luck to go one another tour with him on the next day, the jomblang-cave. It was such a cool experience going into a cave from 60meters and see down there the heavens-light (you guys need to see it by yourselfs). Dwii made also such good photos and videos so that you‘ll have a memorie forever."

"We booked a trip to the Borobudur temple. Our guide Dwii was very kind and he give us interesting facts and informations about indonesia during the drive. He also had a good music taste. He made photos for us and was very helpful. Because we had such a good time with Dwii, we booked the next day a second trip with him for visiting the Jomblang cave. He made sure that we had a great time and made photos and videos of us going up and down the rope descent. The view in the Jomblang cave was wonderful!"

"Hele fijne dag gehad met goede service. We hebben genoten, ondanks de vulkaan vandaag helaas niet zichtbaar was. Bedankt voor deze trip!!"

"Fantastische fietstocht gehad met onze zeer kundige gids Kikki. Ze wist ons van alles te vertellen over de omgeving, gebruiken en hoe door de boeren de kost wordt verdiend. Veel gezien, geleerd en geproeft. Super snacks onderweg en een heerlijke lunch achteraf. Topdag!"

"We have been to Pindul cave and Oyo river with Visit Nusa Indonesia. The driver helped us also to book train tickets to our next destination"

"The things to do are far apart, but we were aware of that beforehand and it's not a problem. Having your own driver was worth its weight in gold. Our driver (Eddy) was very open-minded and tried to give us the best time. He is a very good and reliable driver."

"An unforgettable adventure with breathtaking sunset views over Mount Merapi. The off-road jeep ride was exciting, the scenery was spectacular, and the golden-hour atmosphere made every moment feel special. A perfect combination of adventure and natural beauty."

"I recently joined the Selogriyo Rice Terrace Trek and Borobudur Temple tour, and it was a really enjoyable experience overall. The pickup was on time, the vehicle was comfortable, and the guide was friendly and easy to talk to. The trek at Selogriyo was light and refreshing, with beautiful rice terrace views that felt peaceful and not too crowded. The visit to Borobudur was definitely the highlight, especially with the climb-up access. Being able to see the temple details up close while listening to the guide’s explanation made the experience much more meaningful. The tour felt well-organized yet relaxed, with enough time to enjoy each stop without feeling rushed. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience both nature and culture in one day."

"A very enjoyable 1-day tour because we had a good and very educational experience, with our patient guide who guided us to climb Borobudur temple and also an exciting experience when riding a jeep and Prambanan in the afternoon was so beautiful and made us very happy. Highly recommended"

"We had a good and very educational experience, with our patient guide guiding us through the rice fields to the temple and also along the beautiful paths to explore the village."

"Aldi was our driver and made the trip very interesting by sharing great information and his local knowledge as well as he made the jeep drive lots of fun !! Bring a change of dry clothes if you want to experience the full water drive - it was a great laugh ! Highly recc the trip . Langlois singapore"

"It was great but sad to learn about the huge damage caused by a major volcanic eruption of Mt Merapi in 2010. It was also a great experience sitting in an old US army 4WD jeep, with all the shakiness and bumpiness. The driver drove the jeep through a place that has a few big pools of water. Going through those pools of water was exhilarating."

"Our driver was great and friendly. The tour of the rice terraces was great, followed by a visit to the temple. The live guide for the temple was more difficult to understand in English, but the essentials were there."

"It was a very nice mix because the two caves were so different. Hadi is a great driver. He guided us wonderfully from one place to another and in the meantime told us about life in Java."

"I recommend the activity"

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Fantastic ATV Adventure! What an absolutely fantastic experience! We couldn’t recommend this ATV tour highly enough. This is a proper off-road, all-terrain adventure through the Merapi hills, not just a gentle ride along a track. We tackled dirt trails, rocky terrain, steep ups and downs, rivers and plenty of water obstacles – exactly what you want from an ATV experience! It was exciting, challenging in all the right ways and ridiculously good fun from start to finish. The staff were absolutely brilliant throughout. They made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable while still allowing us to properly enjoy the adventure. Everything was really well organised, with an on-time pickup from our hotel and a smooth drop-off afterwards. If you’re visiting Yogyakarta and want something adventurous, fun and completely different, book this! One of the highlights of our trip and worth every penny. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"The live guide was very friendly and pleasant. He was able to answer our questions, gave us advice, and we had a very nice day with him. Thank you to him 🙏"

"We had a fantastic Merapi jeep tour with Ajad and couldn’t have asked for a better driver. He was incredibly friendly, kind and helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great day. Ajad was also very knowledgeable and his English was fantastic. He told us so much about Indonesia, the culture, local life and food, and was always happy to answer our questions. We really enjoyed hearing his stories. Sadly, the cloudy weather meant we couldn’t see the Merapi lava, but the jeep tour was still amazing. We visited a museum showing a house destroyed by the lava, saw Alien Rock and drove through huge puddles at high speed. We got absolutely soaked and had the best fun! The jeep driver even got soaked himself to make sure we could enjoy it. Ajad genuinely cared about us having a lovely time and made us feel very comfortable. We’re so grateful and would highly recommend him. If you get Ajad as your driver, you’re in very good hands! Thank you for making our trip so memorable. ❤️"

"Guide Adi took us for the night lava tour up to bukit Turgo. He picked us up at the hotel and drove us to the parking, from where we started the hike up to Bukit Turgo. It was a nice trip, and even though it was foggy, we ended up seeing the lava coming out of the Merapi twice. Recommend the trip and Adi as guide. "
